Baseball is Cuba's national sport, and they take it very seriously.
Ballparks are pristine, except for the bathrooms, but that's just to keep them
similar to American baseball. People not only play professionally, but
children play in the streets, even if they don't have bats and balls. I even
saw an impoverished town up in the hills, completely devoid of any
public service, such as running water or sewers, yet with a beautifully
manicured and outfitted baseball diamond, built on a leveled out plateau
dug into the hillside.
